A Ponting century and Brad Hogg's blistering 40

A century by Captain Ricky Ponting followed by a smashing 40 from just 15 balls by Brad Hogg has assured Australia set Scotland a huge total to win the their world cup match at St Kitts.

Ponting's century came up off just 85 balls and included 9 fours and 4 sixes. Ponting and Hodge put on 63 runs for the 4th wicket before Hodge departed trying to smash one. Theie 50 partnership coming off just 37 balls.

Ponting was eventually out for a well-earned 133.

The innings was started off well by Gilchrist and Hayden, the opening partnership worth 91 runs. Gilchrist was out LBW to Brown, being decieved by a slower ball.

Hayden and Clarke both fell to Haq, Hayden LBW, Clarke bowled by a beauty.

Hussey was unlucky to be given out stupmed off the bowling of Brown when on 4. Hussey's departure was a blessing in disguise - Bradd Hogg looked like a man possessed as he blasted his way to an unbeaten 40 off just 15 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes.

After the break Scotland will require 335 runs at 6.7 runs per over.

Update: Australia won by 203 runs.
