Matthew Hayden has blasted the fastest ever World cup century to get Australia off to a flyer against South Africa. Hayden's centru came off just 66 balls beating the old record by 1 ball. Hayden fell for 101 off 68 balls, an innings which included 14 fours and 4 sixes.

Gilchrist's wicket was the first to fall when Australia were on 106, Gilchrist scored a quickfire 42 off 42 balls.

Australia are currently 2/177 off 26 overs.
